I've been writing my own substack posts! I have a love for self-reflection writings because I can look back and see how far I have come and how my views have changed. Now, some of them I am sharing online!

Yay, Maddy! I love that, and very much relate to the pleasure of seeing my own views evolve over time

I write essays! Usually one each week, right here: https://finnschubert.substack.com/

I sometimes write fiction and poetry, but I don't have a regular practice around those. I hear you about missing writing fiction!

I'm writing fiction (crime, but I'm also interested in literary and fantasy) at the moment. the last thing I got published was this creepy/horror story: https://www.westtrestlereview.com/west_trestle_unmana_datta.html.

Hey, Jan! I’m mostly writing short comedy stories at the moment. Feels like a big switch up from usually writing dialogue. I appreciate you’d Substack, keeps me going 🙌🏼

Hi Bam! Comedy. That is something I LOVE reading and sometimes accidentally write. I'd love to learn more about how one writes comedy because I have a really hard time doing it when I am *trying.* Always feel free to post links to your work in comments, if you have any!

I’m sharing weekly short comedy stories on love, sex and dating apps.

Three things I’ve found that work well:

1. Honest friends who tell you where they laugh when they read.

2. AI voices that read it back to me, if it sounds funny when a robot reads it it’ll sound funny when anyone reads it.

3. Testing the stories by telling them in your own voice to friends before writing.

Thanks so much for the encouragement!

I’m taking another look at my haiku/seryu collection about the sea, wild swimming and resubmitting it (second time.)
