One thing that has brought me joy lately is lichen. Not only seeing it everywhere but learning about it.
The most interesting part of it for me is how lichen is a chimera, composed of several different organisms living as one, and as a result cannot be placed solely into one kingdom. I think of my own queerness—being demigender—in the same respect and to know that gives me great joy.
