Dear Friends- Two weeks ago I gave notice that I am leaving my nanny job. It was a leap into the life I’ve wanted to live since I was little— the life of a writer. I don’t fool myself into thinking I am some sort of brilliant literary writer, but I know I have what it takes to support myself. I know I can’t keep caring for other people’s kids and neglecting my friendships, my writing, my health, and the things I love. I know workaholism is part of who I am, and it’s taken me a long time to see that clearly. I also know that I don’t need that much money to be happy. More than money, I need to write.
