Join the Next Write Your Book Proposal Course!

Hello all!

I am actually at a coffee shop this morning and it feels so, so good! Tomorrow I’ll be meeting with my most recent WYBP (Write Your Book Proposal) cohort. We’re two weeks away from being finished with the course and I am so excited for all of my students. They’ve all poured their hearts into their proposals. Some of them are almost finished and some of them have a long way to go, but all of them have a much clearer idea of why they want to bring a book in the world and how to make it happen.

You can find out more about this six-week course HERE! We’ll be holding sessions on Sundays, from 10-11am PST, with optional work sessions for the hour beforehand. All sessions are recorded but I strongly encourage attendance to all sessions. Missing one or two is okay, though.

I sold my book three years ago on proposal to Grove Atlantic and I have a passion for helping others create proposals that truly represent what they have to offer. They key to a good proposal, in my opinion, is imbuing it with your true voice. It’s not about selling a book. It’s about finding editors and agents who will champion you and your work. In order to do that, writers need to create a clear representation of themselves, their writing, and their intended book.

This will be my FOURTH WYBP series, and each one gets better and better.

Scholarship availability depends on the number of registrants who pay full price. There are multiple payment plans and I am always open to discussing payment options. I don’t want finances to inhibit anyone from attending.

This course is especially valuable for anyone from a nontraditional path (like me!), those living inside marginalized identities, and those writing without support or community.

In my opinion, this course is less about finishing with a pristine proposal (but that’s totally possible if you dedicate yourself) and more about strengthening your intentions, your belief in yourself as a writer, and helping to shed the constrictive sheaths of imposter syndrome.
