Before I left for this tour, I contemplated whether it would be best for me to stay home and feel bad for myself or…to be out in the world, connecting with others.
At home I was spending a lot of time in bed, my left ear aching, half my face frozen. If I left for the tour I’d have to fly with my boot and crutch and endure more sleep deprivation. I waited until the second to last day for my decision, letting it whisper from the inner chambers of my heart. I wanted connection. I wanted to see friends and feel a sense of belonging in the world. This is something I’ve felt lacking since moving to Florida, for many reasons, including my workload.
When I landed in California I felt a new sense of lightness.
