Showing up is one of the most important things we can do as writers. In the spirit of showing up, I want to invite you to show up each morning, for five or ten minutes, and commit to your practice of writing (or creating any sort of art).
Consider this an experiment.
Every morning, beginning on June 16 at 630am PST, I will be present on Zoom to facilitate a (very very short) practice. A daily recalibration. A space to say to ourselves what we want to do for the day. A space to forgive ourselves.
Really, you get to decide.
I am doing this because I need it for myself.
I am doing this because, as someone with ADHD, I have a hard time developing habits that stick.
I am doing this because I need community and I don’t think I’m the only one.
I am doing this because I know how powerful it is just to show up for something every day or any day.
So, I’m creating something to show up for. But I’m not creating anything that puts pressure on the showing up.
All we need to do is be there.
